Little Fountaine chooses to use organic fabrics. These include cotton and bamboo blends. We were set up in order to make a babygro that didn't irritate and enrage babies when dressing, by taking it over their heads.

Since then we have developed our product lines looking at otherways to provide a little practical luxury in the eveyday items needed to make you and your baby happy.

Our fabric

We choose beautiful organic cotton. Our supplier speciallises in 'organic only' - working with co-oprative groups and family businesses in India. Many of their jerseys are woven in Britian. We are thrilled to be connected to this British family business and fully support their work in India. They provide jobs, fairtrade prices and a positive environment for these very talented weavers to do their work.

What we love most about our supplier is that they know their makers by name and their story. We think in a world of fast fashion it is important to know who makes your clothes. See Our Makers page to track who made your babys clothes.

Some of our fabric is a cotton & bamboo blend. The qualities of bamboo mean that it is super soft - suitable for any baby (or adult) that has very sensitive skin or eczema. It also has anti-bactirial and anit-fungal properies which make it ideal for children.

Our adult jumpers are sourced from an ethical company, while not made in the UK we choose items that are either organic jersey or made with organic recycled jersey. We like to keep the circle going.

We try to keep as much as we do organic. While this is not always possible we are always looking for new methods.

Currently, the only non-organic compounds of our products are the elastic, some threads (organic thread tends to snap in an overlocker - not ideal), and our brand ribbon. Our labels and screen printing are all done with the most enivronmentally friendly inks that we can find - and have various organic certificates attached to them.
